Reporting a bug

Include whatever of this you have:

• The device and OS version, for example “Pixel 7, Android 16” or “iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 26.1”.
• The Shellvana version, shown in Settings.
• What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
• A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see. The readable side and the mono grid side of the same output is the most useful pair.

Do not send private keys, passwords, or a transcript containing credentials. Nothing in a bug report needs them, and Shellvana’s own transcripts are encrypted precisely so they do not travel.

Reporting a security issue

Write to the same address with “security” in the subject line, and say what you found before you say how to reproduce it. You will get an acknowledgment. Please give me a chance to ship a fix before publishing.

Common questions

Does Shellvana need anything installed on my server? No. It talks to stock sshd. There is no agent, no helper, and no protocol of my own.

Where do my keys live? On your device. Software keys go into the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore. Hardware keys are generated inside the Secure Enclave or StrongBox and cannot be extracted. See the privacy policy.

Can I sync hosts between my phone and my tablet? Not today. Sync needs an account and a server, and Shellvana has neither by design.

My output looks wrong on the readable side. Switch to the mono grid view with the toggle in the session screen, which always shows the exact terminal output. Then send me a screenshot of both. Rendering bugs are the ones I most want to hear about.
